The PP files for 28-M an exporter of Bildu denounced for threatening to kill its mayor
In full controversy over the inclusion on the EH Bildu lists of 44 convicted of belonging to and collaborating with ETA, seven of them for blood crimes, the PP has signed José Manuel Gómez Ruiz for its candidacy for Güeñes, a municipality in Vizcaya , a former member of Eusko Alkartasuna (EA), a member party of the EH Bildu coalition, of which he was a municipal spokesperson for several years until he left the corporation in 2019.
Gómez Ruiz comes from EA and not from Sortu, the successor party to the former Herri Batasuna. Currently, he is a member of the PP and occupies third place in the candidacy for the town council, in which the popular ones do not have representation, according to party sources reported this Thursday.
During his time in the City Council, Gómez Ruiz, dedicated to agricultural activity, had a judicial confrontation in 2013 over a dispute over the boundaries of a piece of land with the mayor, Koldo Artaraz, of the PNV. In fact, Artaraz denounced Gómez Ruiz for death threats. The incident, according to what the Deia newspaper reported at the time, took place during a telephone conversation in which they discussed the pruning of some trees near the road on land owned by the mayor's family.

“He literally told me to be careful, that he was going to drive the truck over me,” the mayor told the media, who immediately hung up the phone and brought the matter to the attention of the Güeñes Municipal Police when he understood that it was a death threat.
The denounced councilor, however, downplayed what happened, understanding that “he may have perceived it as a threat, but it was not.” “Nothing is further from reality”.
