Vox tempts the PP to give a "radical change" to the national board

Vox observes 28-M with determination. In the dome of the formation they consider that these are the first elections in which they participate as a large party, so they expect a favorable result at the polls. The circumstance of having a stronger representation at the national level than in most regions and municipalities makes those from Abascal breathe, who on Sunday aspire to be the brand with the highest growth and to take root and debut in numerous regions where until now Vox was an extra-parliamentary actor.

This is the key, analyze voices from the party, which will determine the future in various strategic autonomies for the right. Vox already boasts of the “key” that they will obtain on Sunday in territories such as Castilla-La Mancha or the Valencian Community to oust socialism and that the PP will inevitably need if it wants to sell 28-M as a triumph. The same happens in important municipalities such as Valencia or Seville.. More doubts are generated by Aragón or Extremadura, a step below on the scale of optimism managed by Abascal, who closed his campaign in Toledo yesterday.

In any case, Vox looks towards the PP when asked about the hopes of forming a government. As this newspaper has already reported, the party leadership considers that there are popular candidates who do not have enough traction, something that would corroborate, they say, the lowering of expectations that Feijóo has been carrying out throughout the campaign.

On the other hand, the formation aspires to maintain its electoral muscle in the bastions in which it was established in the 2019 general elections.. In the Region of Murcia it was the force with the most votes, as in Ceuta.

The party leadership refuses for now to talk about the day after, but fears that Feijóo will reach out to the PSOE to divide up control of several autonomies rather than offer Vox a governance pact in the style of Castilla y León. In the final stretch of the campaign, Abascal himself has hardened his tone against the PP and has disdained Feijóo's “arrogance” as opposed to his “in tune” with socialism. “This is what the entire campaign has been demonstrating,” warn Vox sources.

This Friday, from Toledo, Abascal ended the race by issuing a very harsh warning to Feijóo about what will happen if he prioritizes the PSOE: “If he does not rectify, he will become a danger to the unity of Spain.”

“Where the right adds up, it will not remain for us,” they assert from the party, but they admit that the only slogan at this time, without knowing what will happen on Sunday, is that Vox will not offer “neither gifts nor blackmail” at the time of form governments. The approach is clear: the idea of handing over power in exchange for nothing, as happened in Madrid in 2021, is ruled out, and Vox only believes now in alliances such as the one sealed in Castilla y León in 2022.
