The Government dismisses Maraver as ambassador to the UN after his announcement to go with Díaz on 23-J
The Council of Ministers has approved this Tuesday the dismissal of the diplomat Agustín Santos Maraver as ambassador of Spain to the UN after announcing that he will run as number two of Sumar's candidacy for Madrid in the general elections on July 23.
Executive sources have informed Efe of the approval of the royal decree with the dismissal, at his own request, of Maraver, a text that will be published on Wednesday in the Official State Gazette.
The second vice president of the Government and leader of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, announced on Monday that the until now ambassador of Spain to the UN would be number two in her candidacy for Madrid.
Maraver had been carrying out his diplomatic responsibility at the United Nations since August 2018, when he replaced the former chief of staff of Mariano Rajoy in the Presidency of the Government, Jorge Moragas.
