Vox signs María del Camino Limia, the rancher who confronted Garzón, as counselor in Extremadura
Lawyer by career, first in Zamora, where she developed urban plans for the Junta de Castilla y León, and then shepherd and rancher of 100% merino sheep for hunting in Don Benito (Badajoz).. Her name is María del Camino Limia (Zamora, 1984) and she is the one chosen by Vox to be the Minister of Forest Management and Rural World in María Guardiola's cabinet, as EL MUNDO has learned from reliable sources.
Camino, as it is known in the agricultural world, already had many followers on social networks due to its activity, but it was as a result of an interview published by EL MUNDO in January 2022, when it rose to fame.. After her response to the minister in this newspaper, Camino was requested by numerous national media, especially on television, which gave her great popularity.
Great communicator, she owns 6,000 pure cattle and has recovered transhumance as an avant-garde production model to manage farms. Since the end of 2021, he has presided over the Sustainable World Livestock Association, present in 28 countries -mostly Hispanic-American- that groups more than 2,000 farms and 150,000 hectares.
María Guardiola will announce the names of all her advisers on Thursday – and they will take office on Friday – in a process that has taken a few days until Vox has already formalized the incorporation of its adviser after an intense casting among several people from the agrarian world of Estremadura.
The selection process has included various interviews, some of them online and others face-to-face, even in Madrid, with the presidents of Asaja Cáceres, Ángel García Blanco, or Asaja Badajoz, Juan Metidieri, who rejected said proposal. The president of Aceriber, Elena Diéguez, was also touched. Finally, and after several days of selection, the chosen one is María del Camino Limia.
“He is an ignoramus who does not know the production system or its producers, a puppet at the service of ecoterrorist movements, and who with his attacks puts us at the level of the great brick speculators,” he said of Garzón in that interview with this newspaper. the new counselor of Vox.
And he also added: “Garzón has done terrible damage to the Spain Brand, a man who is not known for a trade or benefit, only attacking the primary sector. A politician who is not prepared and who should never have held that position and who will make empty Spain increasingly empty.”
After voluntarily leaving her post in the administration, as she herself has confessed, she went to Extremadura where she became a farmer on an individual basis, although she was also entrusted with other farms, such as in Trujillo, where she manages the La Llave Merino cattle ranch, which won the first business award in Sustainable Development two years ago for “leading a project that is respectful of the environment and helping to recognize the value of the pasture”.
In addition, he managed the start-up of the Olivenza (Badajoz) slaughterhouse from its opening until it finally settled on a leased farm in Medellín (Badajoz).
The Vox representative will therefore be the seventh director in the team formed by María Guardiola, which in principle will have that small number of directors. The names of Elena Manzano, a trusted person of the new president of the Board, seem confirmed. Former councilor of the PP of Cáceres in the last legislature, she is a professor of Financial and Tax Law at the Faculty of Law at the University of Extremadura and between 2014-2016 she was a director of the Consultative Council of Extremadura. He will be the head of the Ministry of Finance, although the rest of his powers remain to be confirmed.
And in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, which was split in half to give the other part to Vox as part of the agreement to form the government, will be led by Mercedes Morán, who was general director of the PAC in the Monago government. and it is also from the hard core of María Guardiola.
In turn, another woman, Sara García Espada, who was number 2 on the list for the regional elections for the PP in Badajoz, and therefore is a deputy in this legislature, has all the ballots to lead the Ministry of Health. A doctor and nurse by profession, she was vice-secretary of the College of Physicians of Badajoz.
Finally, the general secretary of the PP of Extremadura, and spokesman in the regional parliament, Abel Bautista, will in turn have the rank of adviser in the Presidency. The rest of the names are yet to be officially confirmed, an issue that will finally be resolved this Thursday, when they are officially announced.
