Three arrested after sexually assaulting and robbing a 19-year-old girl in a shopping center in Alicante

Three men between the ages of 20 and 28 have been arrested for their involvement in the sexual assault and robbery of a 19-year-old girl in the vicinity of a shopping center in Alicante, when it was closed to the public..

After the arrest, carried out by the National Police, the duty court has ordered the entry into prison for two of them, while the third is on provisional release.

According to sources from the Provincial Police Station, the sexual assault was committed by one of them, while another of those arrested who has entered prison was commissioned to cooperate so that the events could be perpetrated..

The attack occurred at dawn on July 11 after the young woman decided to take a shortcut to reach her destination and crossed through a shopping center parking lot without realizing that those now arrested were following her by car.. One of them got out of the vehicle and followed the victim on foot until he violently pounced on her.

The assailant demanded that the victim hand over money and a mobile phone, but when he gave it to her, he did not let her leave, instead sexually assaulting her while her brother and a friend waited in the car.

Once the rape was completed, the alleged perpetrator took her bag and was picked up by the other two involved. The three fled the place in the car and the victim was able to ask for help from pedestrians who were on public roads and alerted the Police.

Agents of the National Police went to the place, who helped the victim, activated the protocol for this type of sexual crimes and transferred the young woman to a hospital.

Subsequently, the young woman formalized the complaint and, after providing the physical characteristics of her attacker, the police investigations began, including the analysis of the recordings from different cameras with which it was possible to identify and locate the vehicle used by the suspected assailants. Six days after the events, the National Police managed to arrest them.

The three detainees were transferred to the offices of the Provincial Police Station of Alicante and, later, after instructing the proceedings, they went to court, which ordered provisional detention for two of them and freedom for the young man who was driving the car while waiting for trial is held.
