The judge calls the sister and the current partner of the young woman murdered in Utrera to testify

The head of Court number 2 of Utrera (Seville), competent in gender violence, has called the sister and the current partner of the 22-year-old Nicaraguan murdered in the town to testify, a statement for which he has also the alleged perpetrator of the events, the young woman's husband, has been summoned.

As reported to EFE this Wednesday by his lawyer, José Antonio Sires, the statement has been set for 10 in the morning this Thursday, the time at which the alleged murderer, of whom the deceased was separated at the time of the facts.

The statement of the sister and the couple aims to elucidate the possible motive for the crime, in a case in which the summary secrecy has been decreed, which could be lifted once the appearance before the judge ends.

José Antonio Sires has indicated that tomorrow the Prosecutor's Office will request the provisional detention communicated and without bail, having indications that the detainee could have facilities to leave Spanish territory in case of being released.

He added that, in the rest of the process, “the maximum sentence, possibly permanent prison” will be requested, because there are indications that he killed the young woman “consciously and deliberately”, in addition to the fact that he had no options to flee and received several hits, not just one.

This death has been confirmed by the Ministry of Equality as a sexist murder, which brings the number of victims of gender violence to 32 so far this year, 1,216 since 2003.

The body of the young woman was found last Monday in the house where she lived with a strong blow to the head. The man fled but was found and arrested shortly after.. Neither the deceased nor her husband were included in the Comprehensive Monitoring System for cases of Gender Violence, known as VioGén, nor did they have a record in the City Council's social services.
