Staying hydrated, serving risk groups or eating light dishes are some of the advice offered by the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) on the occasion of the third heat wave that the country is suffering, with daytime temperatures that will reach 38º and 40º. in much of the Peninsula.

For this reason, among other tips, it recommends the elderly, children and chronically ill not to go outside during the hours of maximum heat, that is, between 12:00 and 17:00 in those areas where temperatures exceed 35 degrees (ºC)..

Likewise, it suggests wearing a cap or hat outside or looking for shade as well as hydrating regularly; opt for a light diet, prioritizing fruit and cold soups, such as gazpacho; o Avoid alcoholic beverages, as they promote dehydration.

In addition, he advises lowering the blinds at home as soon as the sun hits full; put the fan or air conditioning at any time; and leave food and medication in a cool, dry place.

It also advocates turning on the air conditioning in the car or rolling down the windows and not leaving anyone waiting inside with the doors closed (pets included)..

Finally, in case of discomfort, reddish skin, rapid pulse, fever, confusion or dizziness, ask to call 112 or go to an emergency center.
