The third heat wave of summer hits Spain. Today Wednesday, many areas of the south, center and north of the peninsula maintain red and orange alerts in the face of high temperatures, and the authorities ask that care be taken. The forecast indicates that this episode of heat will last until Friday, August 11.

The Ministry of Health, in its official Twitter account, has recalled that, given the special warnings for heat issued by the State Meteorological Agency, citizens must follow several recommendations. They have summarized these tips in ten points, to avoid health problems related to heat, such as heat stroke or sunstroke.

The most logical recommendation is to drink water or fluids frequently, even if you don't feel thirsty. In this way, we will stay hydrated, since with the heat the body loses water faster. Of course, the Ministry of Health clarifies that very sugary drinks, alcoholic or caffeinated drinks should be avoided, since these can aggravate a dehydration picture.

These are easy practices to follow.

The Ministry of Health recalls that we must pay special attention to the people most sensitive to heat, such as children, the elderly, pregnant women and the chronically ill. It is recommended that, during the hottest hours of the day, we stay in cool, shaded or air-conditioned areas
