Fears of wider conflict: US warns Lebanon of consequences of entering war

The American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, warned the Lebanese Prime Minister, Nayib Mikati, this Saturday that entering the war would have “consequences” for the Lebanese people.
The head of US diplomacy has highlighted “the importance of respecting the interests of the Lebanese people, who would suffer the consequences if Lebanon is dragged into the conflict caused by the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel.”
The State Department has reported this telephone conversation in which Blinken has conveyed his “condolences” to the families of the Lebanese civilians “who have tragically lost their lives as a result of the conflict.”
Blinken has reiterated the “continued support of the United States to the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Internal Security Forces, the only legitimate guarantor of the stability and territorial integrity of Lebanon.”
Hezbollah claims six attacks
The Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah claimed to have launched six attacks against northern Israel this Saturday, most of them with missiles or rockets, and to have suffered three casualties, amid an escalation of tension on Lebanon's southern border with Israel, which It lasts for almost two weeks.
According to a statement from the Shiite formation, the first action this afternoon was carried out with guided missiles and “other weapons” against a series of military posts in the Cheba Farms and the hills of Kfar Chouba, territories controlled by the Jewish State that the Lebanon claims as its own that it suffered similar attacks throughout this week.
