Compromís seeks its own profile within Sumar to negotiate on its own with Sánchez

Pedro Sánchez has Sumar's votes in favor of his possible investiture and is focused on negotiations with the nationalists to tie up the majority. However, the heterogeneity of the parliamentary group of 31 deputies that Yolanda Díaz will head may complicate the agreement. Compromís has already raised its voice demanding its own voice to negotiate with the president and warns that the price of the Compromís-Sumar votes will have a price: territorial demands such as the cancellation of the historical debt that they describe as “illegitimate” and the reform of the regional financing model under the “entitled” population indicator, not adjusted according to criteria such as ageing, schoolchildren or insularity. “The vote of the Valencians is worth the same as that of the Basques and Catalans and those of Compromís will be yes or yes if progress is made on these issues,” recalled the former minister and deputy spokesman in the Cortes Vicent Marzà yesterday, following a warning that the deputy Àgueda Micó already made. The intention of the nationalists is to negotiate these conditions directly with Sánchez, trying to extract specific agreements from him that do not remain in borage water, as happened in the previous legislature with those reached with Joan Baldoví. The legitimacy to do so is based on the good results of their alliance.

Compromís-Sumar obtained four seats in the Valencian Community, three in Valencia and one in Alicante, only behind Madrid (6) and Barcelona (1). Among these deputies, two belong to Compromís (Més and Iniciativa), one to Esquerra Unida and the deputy from Alicante, Txema Rodríguez, to Podemos, although so close to Yolanda Díaz that he will be the secretary of the parliamentary group and has left the purple formation.

This desire for independence formulated by Compromís joins the intention of Podemos to assert the weight of its five deputies in the group and in the negotiations for the investiture. How Sumar will manage the coexistence of sensitivities will be key in its future.

Bad experience with Podemos

Compromís already has experience in confluences, and it has not always been good. Although in the last legislature, after their agreement with Más País and Íñigo Errejón, there was good harmony and visibility in Congress, the first two with Podemos caused them to end up in the mixed group.

In 2015 they came together with Las Mareas and En Comú in Compromís-Podem-Es el Moment, with 9 Valencian deputies, two of them from Compromís, but neither the Congress Table nor Pablo Iglesias agreed to form their own group. In 2016 they joined Unidos Podemos under the name 'A la Valencia', already with Esquerra Unida integrated. They kept the nine seats, four acts for Compromís that ended up coming out of the influence of Iglesias. Now they want to give voice to their Valencian agenda in Sumar «yes or yes».

The Ministry of Defense has appointed Army Major General Francisco Javier Marcos Rodríguez as the new head of the Military Emergency Unit (UME), replacing Lieutenant General Luis Martínez Meijide after his transfer to the reserve.

They order prison for criminal organization for the leader of the Casuals, the ultras followers of Barça

The Court of Instruction number 12 of Barcelona ordered the provisional prison for the leader of the Casuals, the most violent faction of the Boixos Nois, the followers of FC Barcelona, Ricardo Mateo, accused of the same crimes that he charges the rest of the thirty investigated in this case. Mato was arrested on the afternoon of August 31 on the Costa Brava by the Mossos d'Esquadra after spending some 50 days in search and capture, since the police did not find him at his home in l'Hospitalet when he carried out the ' Operation Hydra' against the Casuals on February 9.

That day, the Mossos made 17 entries and searches at homes in various towns in the Barcelona metropolitan area and arrested 28 people allegedly linked to the Casuals. 12 of them entered prison and now their alleged ringleader will accompany them. Precisely, in a report presented by the police in court, it is indicated that within the FCB Casuals there are “clearly differentiated leadership ranks where the highest executives also continue to be those who were more than 10 years ago”.

The Mossos point out that Mateo would be at the top and recall that 14 years ago they already decapitated the group with his arrest but, after his release from prison two years ago, the “Casuals FCB criminal organization was restructured again”. In addition, they indicate that the gang had an important boost in recent years as its alleged criminal activity evolved “in an important way, diversifying into the lucrative business of growing and trafficking marijuana.”.

For this reason, the police accuse the Casuals of being “part of a very large group of people with a stable character that persists over time and a hierarchical organization with a clear distribution of functions among its members and with a single purpose, that of commit crimes”.

They also indicate that the “recruitment place or quarry to get new members would also remain the same” as 14 years ago, “the radical animation group of the Fútbol Club Barcelona team called Boixos Nois”. At the moment, the court charges Mateo with the same crimes as the rest of those investigated, such as being part of a criminal organization, drug trafficking, threats, kidnapping, extortion, attacks on fans of rival teams and even two possible homicides.

However, judicial sources point out that the magistrate could divide the case due to the involvement of some suspects in specific crimes such as attacks on bars of other rival ultra groups, the Blue and White Brigades, the ultras of Espanyol, in November 2021 or going to Girona before a Girona-Seville soccer match to confront “members of the radical fans of Sevilla FC Biris Norte”, as well as drug trafficking by having marijuana plantations in various locations and wanting to eliminate the competition for what presumably not they hesitated to kidnap, assault and threaten various members of rival groups.

The police also associate some of those investigated with two homicides, that of an alleged drug trafficker in Badia del Vallès and that of a corpse that appeared inside a vehicle that was circulating in Barcelona and that could have died in a brothel.. In addition, some of those investigated allegedly participated in an attack with pistols and bladed weapons at a Barcelona nightclub in which several guards were injured.

The case is still open as the court analyzes whether the suspects participated in other crimes committed in other parts of Spain, such as an attack on Osasuna supporters in Pamplona, among others, so more arrests may take place.

The Consell continues to complete its organization chart in the areas of the PP without Vox making appointments

The Valencian Government continues to complete its organization chart and make appointments to the second and third steps of the Administration. Of course, only in the areas under the direction of the Popular Party. Of the 13 appointments in the last August plenary session held this Thursday, none have been made in the Departments of Culture, where the General Directorate of Sports, Agriculture or Justice and the Interior is still vacant, despite the request for dismissal made by the senior managers responsible for Emergencies.

The PP continues to nurture its departments and has also promoted the renewal of the councils of the public companies City of Arts and Sciences; Valencian Society Vehicle Technical Inspection; Telecommunications Infrastructure and Services Society and Certification; Project Society for Digital Transformation; Railways of the Generalitat Valenciana; and the trade fairs Fira Valencia and Fira Alacant.

It has also appointed the deputy Rubén Ibáñez as president of the Port Authority of Castellón, without yet addressing those of Valencia and Alicante.

Pedro Carceller, who comes from Cáritas, joins the Ministry of Social Services, Equality and Housing as general director of Inclusion and Development Cooperation, while the Treasury appoints the treasurer of the Generalitat Mª Amparo Haro Cortés as general director of Budgets and recovers Enrique Montes, who was already its general director from 2012 to 2014, during the Government of Alberto Fabra, at the head of the Valencian Institute of Finance.

José Antonio Pérez Juan will be the General Director of Universities; Andrés Lluch Figueres, General Director of Labour, Cooperativism and Occupational Safety; María Luisa Mezquida, General Director of Planning and Services at Labora; Elías Amor Bravo, General Director of Employment and Training at Labora; Jorge Blanco Coll, general director of Quality and Environmental Education and Manuel Rosalén Caparrós, general director of Industry. In addition, the former councilor of the PP in Orihuela, Sabina Goretti Galindo will be the general director of Water, an area to which President Carlos Mazón attaches great importance and has made it an axis of his claims to the Government of Pedro Sánchez.

In addition, the former councilors of Torrevieja and Villa-Real Agistina Esteve and Susana Fabregat will be the delegates of the Council in Alicante and Castellón. The creation of this figure has been criticized by the PSOE, which reproaches Mazón for having created these high positions when previously they were Administration officials who carried out this task.

The Council is not expected to meet in the next three weeks, so all the vacancies that remain in the departments in the hands of Vox will continue without appointments until the meetings resume. What the formation of Santiago Abascal has done is appoint temporary personnel in Justice and Culture, specifically heads of cabinet and advisers.

The only city where you can leave your plants in a nursery during the holidays

Isabel Jiménez carries her pot with pride. It is not just any plant, but it has a great sentimental value for it. “My mother was a fan of plants and I gave it to her when she was dying. He was very excited. Last year it broke completely and I was terribly upset.. Don't see how I cried. But I pruned it and it recovered”, she explains with satisfaction.

For this reason, this year, Isabel has gone to the plant nursery in Pozuelo de Alarcón, the only town hall in Spain that has this free service running from June 15 to September 15.

Every summer a thousand specimens spend their vacations in the Pozuelo Environmental Education Classroom. There they also have a hospital to recover from illnesses if necessary. “It's almost like a spa for them,” says the popular mayoress of the town, Paloma Tejero.

The bustle is constant in these facilities located in Húmera, a neighborhood of Pozuelo, located to the west of the region. It is an area with many chalets that have large gardens and numerous outdoor and indoor plants.

There are many people from Pozole who go on vacation and have no one to leave their plants with or do not want to bother relatives or neighbors.

-Look, we bring you a strawberry tree- say Alberto Corite and Adrián Hidalgo.

-The earth is dry and, when you touch it, it has to be like a sponge- advises Miriam Torres, the classroom's environmental educator.

-This is a tree of love and this other one is found regulinchi. If he survives, fine and if not, then nothing- continues Alberto.

Miriam takes the data with the approximate date of collection, puts the labels on each plant and places them in the greenhouse. Carnivorous plants are placed in an aquatic classroom.

Take care of nature

«It is an initiative that seems great to us because it is the only solution you have if you do not want to disturb the neighbors. There should be more services like this, but we have only found this one. It is important that people realize how important it is to take care of plants, because that way you are also preserving nature. You have to take care of the little things”, says Alberto convinced.

When they arrive at the nursery, the plants are subjected to an inspection because in the event that they have any pest or disease they are transferred to the hospital.

There they are installed in a heated greenhouse for the winter season and, in summer, the plants are kept under the shading structure and irrigation by microdiffusion.

Volunteer at the plant hospital. S. ENRIQUEZ NISTAL

The hospital also has a binocular magnifying glass to observe and show possible pests and two UVIS for the most delicate vegetables that need intensive care.. Any resident who sees that their plant is sick can go to this center every Wednesday.

Excess of water

The hospital is attended by the phytopathologist, Óscar Domínguez, several environmental educators and a team of about 20 volunteers.. One of them, Bernardino Rodrigues, warns that the main cause of plant death is excess water..

«People think that the plant is withered, they start to water it and end up drowning it. «We want to provide facilities so that the neighbors do not have to ask for favors. In addition, we want to transfer our love for nature and that the plants do not die, “says Miriam Torres, the environmental educator.

Leslie Arévalo and Christian Flores carry a wheelbarrow full of flower pots. They were worried because they did not know where to leave them until they discovered the nursery in Pozuelo. “I tried to give someone one of my plants, but it burned. So now we can go on vacation in peace because we know that they will be well cared for,” they conclude.

The group of Spanish tourists trapped in Ethiopia, evacuated to a military base

The group of 19 Spaniards who were trapped in the Ethiopian area of Amhara due to clashes between official troops and Fano militias have been evacuated to the Bahir Dar military base by military helicopter, the Kananga travel agency, organizer, reported. From the trip.

“If everything goes according to plan, tomorrow they will be able to take their flight to Addis Ababa in order to connect with their international flight to Spain,” the agency added in a statement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported, for its part, that two other Spanish tourists trapped in the city of Gondar were successfully evacuated after the reopening of that city's airport. The two tourists were able to leave for the capital, Addis Ababa, where they arrived at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the embassy, is in charge of dealing with the local authorities and the National Security Adviser to be able to evacuate the group of 19 Spaniards (18 tourists and the guide) who are still in the Amhara area.

“His transfer will be made as soon as security conditions allow it,” sources from the Ministry have reported, who have not wanted to provide more details for security reasons.

Foreign Affairs recommended not to travel

The conflict between the official troops and the Fano militias, which broke out in the tourist city of Lalibela a week ago, has spread throughout the Amhara region, making it difficult for Spanish tourists to leave due to the closure of airports and the blockade of the roads.

The Ministry insists on its express recommendation, published on its website, since August 30, 2022, not to travel for any reason to certain areas of Afar and Amhara, including Lalibela, due to the intense confrontations and the occupation of large territories by rebel forces.

They find 45 bales with 1,300 kilos of cocaine in a fishing boat in Camariñas

A fishing boat intercepted in Camariñas (A Coruña) on Wednesday afternoon contained some 1,300 kilos of cocaine divided into 45 bales. It is expected that the only detainee will pass this Friday at the disposal of the Corcubión Investigating Court number 2, on duty.

As confirmed to Europa Press by sources familiar with the case and judicial sources, and as shown by images broadcast by various media, the unloading of the drug took place early Thursday afternoon in the port in the presence of the detainee and the judge.

The device to intercept the ship, the Nuevo Furuno, had the participation of the Special Response Group for Organized Crime (Greco), the Drug and Organized Crime Unit (Udyco) of the National Police, as well as Customs Surveillance.

The Nuevo Furuno is a 12.6-meter-long wooden-hulled fishing vessel that is based in Camelle, in Camariñas, and was registered with the Ministry of Fisheries in June 1997.

The agents intercepted the ship in the vicinity of the port of Santa Mariña around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and proceeded to arrest a man. It is scheduled to pass this Friday at the disposal of the Court of Instruction number 2 of Corcubión, on duty.

Thebes, ten years in charge of LaLiga: "The Premier or the Saudi league are only a reference in spending, we need common rules for everyone"

The economic crises, the pandemic, the emergence of new players such as Saudi Arabia…. There are many challenges that Javier Tebas (San José, Costa Rica, 1962) has faced at the helm of LaLiga. And it is that ten years go a long way. The highest leader of professional clubs continues to see things that could be improved in his organization, but he continues to rank it as the best league in the world.

What awaits us in this new LaLiga EA Sports and Hypermotion? This is a year full of novelties in LaLiga: the name, the brand or the logo, but also other deeper ones. The fan will enjoy a new way of experiencing football, especially with innovations in broadcasts. It is also important to improve access to football through operators for both LaLiga EA Sports and LaLiga Hypermotion.
The change of sponsor benefits them financially, right? Yes, but it has not been the main reason. After six seasons with Banco Santander, we understood that in order to make a qualitative leap we needed to implement profound changes such as that of the main sponsor. It is an alliance with a common purpose: we are committed to revolutionizing the consumption of soccer.
Does the change of corporate image respond to this new line of innovation that they want to imprint on the competition? We had an image that no longer matched the reality of LALIGA, it had become too small for us, and at a time of so much strategic change we also decided to evolve this identity.

Javier Tebas at the Ibero-American Congress. Europa Press Since his arrival, LaLiga has improved economically, in terms of impact…. What do you think the competition is missing? We have achieved a lot, we are more than 600 professionals worldwide, more than 200 million people on social networks and they see us in more than 180 countries. But we can still go further, for example in our international presence, key to our growth. Also in new technological developments to explore other ways of connecting with fans, the development of LaLiga clubs….
A very important challenge is to adapt to the disruption of the audiovisual world in sport. Of course, the obligation to continue fighting with more strength, more resources and more forcefulness to eradicate any trace of racism and intolerance from our football. Lastly, developing the defense of a balanced and fair governance model in European football such as the launch of the Union of European Clubs (UEC), supported by LaLiga, which advocates offering a voice to all clubs, not just the most elite .
If you had to make a global ranking, how would you place LaLiga EA Sports worldwide? Sportingly, with objective data, LaLiga would be in first place because we lead the ranking of European titles since, of the last 68 trophies, it has 35 against the 13 of the Premier. If we talk about players, we have a predominant position with 6 Golden Boy, 24 Ballon d'Or and 15 Golden Boot.
But we cannot forget economic sustainability thanks to our financial control. Our competition and its clubs are leaders in solvency without the need for aid or subsidies. Obviously, the Premier League is a great competition, but it does not have a sustainable model, since it has lost more than 2.8 billion euros in just the last five seasons.
The Premier League is a referential competition at the income level, but another actor has burst in with great force, the Saudi league. Is it a threat? What is a reference is in spending and from LaLiga we have spent years defending the need to establish common rules of the game for all. Having leagues that allow clubs losses in a generalized way and that are only sustained thanks to the funds contributed by millionaire shareholders without an economic-financial rationale, distorts the competition. Are you surprised that players, still at the top of their careers, have accepted offers from there, Benzema among them? Each one will have their reasons, but they are still professionals making the decisions they consider most appropriate for their careers. Where you have to focus is on solving the imbalance produced by artificially inflated leagues, which are the ones that cause competitiveness problems and adulterate the competition.
There are others, however, who have rejected it. Kroos, Modric, Busquets, Alba and Mbappé. Do you think Mbappé has reasons to come to LaLiga? Will he do it? Any player who wants to play in the elite has reasons to come to LaLiga. We are the competition with the most European titles and with the most awarded players, so the motivation to come is a fact. About whether or not it will, I should not be the one to answer. Personally, I would love it, I want the best playing here.

Javier Tebas at a press conference on the Negreira case. EFE Does the League lose weight without Benzema, Busquets or Asensio. Is it compensated with the arrivals of Bellingham, Gundogan or Azpilicueta? No, it's a very superficial vision and we must also appreciate those who don't leave and who are the world's leading stars: Vinicius, Pedri, Griezmann or En-Nesyri, among others. In addition, those who have come have done so to a football without inflationary vortex in the purchase of players, the result of a good strategy that causes great players to have arrived free.
They compare us with other leagues due to spending on transfers, but it is a mistake if it is not analyzed if the purchase and sale of players responds to sporting objectives. LaLiga has value as a competition beyond individual talents. Even so, if we talk about great players, the reality is that, of the last 13 Ballon d'Ors, 12 have been for LaLiga players. Recently, you have had a crossover with Gerard Piqué about his Kings League, do you think LaLiga Do you have things to learn from your competition? There is no point in comparing them because they are completely different. But you can learn from everything and Piqué has been able to generate great expectations with a new product made with characters from different fields.. We share innovation, the search for new resources and go beyond the football ecosystem.
Another league with which he does not have a very good relationship is the SuperLiga. Do you conclude the project and its threat? The project is finished, but the threat is not. Its main promoter will continue to use its resources to keep alive an initiative that would allow it to control professional football not only at a Spanish level, but also at a European level and, if you hurry me, worldwide, to the detriment of the rest of the clubs. At least that project has managed to smooth things over between you and Rubiales. Do you think that they will be able to unite Spanish football or that, at least, their personal relationship will not affect you? The conflict between Rubiales and me is not personal. We have opposite concepts of what professional football and management work in it should be. We are committed to sustainability, internationalization and permanent innovation and a transparent and democratic management model.Negreira and the futureLast year one of the largest cases of corruption broke out in the arbitration establishment. In this specific case, we have acted and carried out the pertinent controls based on what our powers allow us.
Do you have plans to continue in charge of LaLiga for many years? I intend to continue for four more seasons and run for re-election, but it is the teams that decide. As of today I feel the support for this renewal of the vast majority.
How do you see LaLiga of the future? It will be an increasingly strong and consolidated brand in areas beyond football. Today it already has the largest ecosystem in the sports and entertainment industry. I think it will have an even bigger international presence. Brands like Real Madrid or FC Barcelona are recognized anywhere in the world, and in the future most of the clubs in our competition will also be. Also, we will have first class facilities thanks to LaLiga Impulso.

LaLiga starts weighed down by a rickety market and under Saudi harassment

LaLiga, with the new surname EA Sports, starts this Friday with contained enthusiasm. The economic crisis and financial control have caused what was La Liga de las estrellas to put a stop to millionaire signings and trust the recovery to the explosion of emerging figures and the still unfulfilled desire of Kylian Mbappé to play for Real Madrid. Without Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, the focus of the Spanish competition for a decade, and with the departure of Benzema (last Ballon d'Or), the League is increasingly distancing itself from the Premier, despite the fact that sporting results have not diminished due to to the good performances of Real Madrid, Sevilla and Villarreal.

The new LaLiga show is based on the arrival of the English Bellingham, in Pedri (the most valued Spaniard), the exhibitions of Vinicius and the irruption of emerging figures (Fermín, Lamine Yamal) from a Barcelona financially distressed and that until the last minute is going to suffer to register some of its players, such as Gündogan, Iñigo Martínez, Araujo or Marcos Alonso. Laporta is pending the transfer of Dembélé and part of the sale of Barça Studios to expedite registration. They also have to speed up, among others, Betis, Sevilla, Celta, Getafe, Las Palmas and Osasuna.

The League is the second most valued competition, with 9,000 million, but it only represents half that of the Premier, with 18,000 million, according to Transfermarkt. Behind are Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and the Saudi Pro League, which has made a spectacular leap in the transfer spending table. In this section, LaLiga occupies the sixth place.

Premier League teams have bought €1.613 million worth of players, followed by Bundesliga clubs with 541 and Italian Serie A with 532. France sums 483 and Arabia, 465. LaLiga remains at 280 million. This represents 7.6% of the total expenditure of the main competitions in the market.

“The money spent is what it is. I would be concerned if the money invested was greater and could not be paid,” warned Javier Tebas last June. To the crisis derived from the Covid, which crushed several of the locomotive clubs in the market, such as Barcelona, Atlético or Valencia, add the fair play conditions that LaLiga imposes on the clubs and that it monitors so exhaustively that the teams spend all of August wondering whether or not they will be able to register their signings. The limit of losses for three years or that the contribution of the maximum shareholders cannot exceed 25% are two of the great differences that weigh down the Spanish clubs before the dominators of the market: the English.

MARKET ENTERTAINER

Among the 10 most expensive signings on the European market, which will remain open until September 1, there is only one LaLiga footballer: Jude Bellingham. Real Madrid paid 103 million euros to Borussia Dortmund for the British midfielder. The biggest outlay was made by Arsenal, with Declan Rice (116.6).

The white club has been the great national animator by also disbursing 20 million for the young Turk Arda Güler. Now it will shake the market again before the loss of Courtois. The rest of the teams have barely exceeded the cost of 10 million, only Sevilla exercising the option for Bade, although some, like Girona, have made the most expensive in their history.

It does not go unnoticed that in the transfer table there is no payment from the current league champion, Barcelona, nor from the clubs that will accompany Real Madrid in the Champions League: Atlético and Real Sociedad.

For the moment, the Barcelona team has only gone to the market to sign Oriol Romeu for five million. Iñigo Martínez and Gündogan (they arrive for free) and their dazzling homegrown players are the new faces for Xavi Hernández. Javi Galán (3.5) and Söyüncü (free) have joined Simeone's group and he recovers good projection loanees: Samu Lino, Camello and Riquelme. He still has to solve Joao Félix's headache. His departure would give him room for maneuver. Nor has Real Sociedad spent, but Sevilla has, exercising the options for Lodi Bade (10 million) and Djibril Sow (10). Villarreal, who will be in the Europa League, has invested part of the sales of Pau Torres (33) and Jackson (37) in Alexander Sorloth (10), something that neither Betis nor Osasuna, the other national representatives in competitions, have done. European.

Real Madrid and Bayern (this Thursday they signed the Englishman Kane for 100 million) are the only teams that manage to compete with the English in the most expensive signings. A ranking dominated by the Premier. In the last places of the Top-10, PSG appears with the South Korean center-back Kim Min-jae and the Uruguayan midfielder Ugarte, both cost 60 million.

It is not only difficult for the clubs in the League to compete with the wallet, they are also losing the condition of a seller's market, as reflected in the flows of purchases and sales in the major leagues. All major competitions tend to be nourished, mainly, by their own environment. With Ligue 1, six operations worth 21.5 million have been closed and they have hardly been caught in Serie A and the Premier. Of the 1,603 million invested by English clubs, only 124.20 have ended up in Spain. Five operations have been carried out for the 10 in Serie A and the nine in the Bundesliga, very marked by the 100 million Manchester City for Gvardiol. The Bundesliga has not left a single euro in the Spanish coffers. The emerging Saudi Pro had not shown interest either until the signing of Barcelona player Kessié for 12.5 million came to fruition. Alex Collado and Benzema left for free. The Arabs have fixed their eyes, above all, on England (226.40 million).

Registration of LaLiga players: This is how the squads are before the first day

LaLiga begins today and the vast majority of First Division teams have not been able to register all of their squads in the competition.

At the moment, there are clubs like Barcelona that have more than 10 players who could not be listed in the tournament just a few hours before the start of the tournament.. However, it should be remembered that, despite the dispute on the first day, the term does not end until the end of the transfer market and that it is something that happens repeatedly season after season..

Even so, it is worth remembering the changes in the regulations in the financial fair play of LaLiga, since it is one of the main responsible for the situation.

Before, those teams that violated said law and entered a more restrictive phase, the rule of 1/4 was applied to them, which implies that in order to spend on staff they have to enter more money than normal. To achieve this, they had to decapitalize, that is, sell many players or players of great value, because only then could they generate the significant 25% that can be applied to squad expenses.

The pandemic has affected Spanish teams in this regard, although LaLiga changed the regulations to make losses more bearable during that time.. The entities lost various sources of income and also some of the teams had sales of important players that could never be made and their accounts were out of balance.

“You have to reflect on whether the start of the competition should coincide with the end of the market, because now we are all going to lose out with what is going to happen to Spanish football this weekend,” explained Víctor Orta, Sevilla's sports director, a team that, as admitted, will not be able to register all its players before the start of the championship.

Everything exemplified here is collected and developed by La Liga in its budgeting regulations.

The norm of 40%, now 50% (or 60%)

To this day, the teams that are not being able to register their players are those that break the rules established by LaLiga. In Spain, the clubs affected by the financial fair play regulations have to have a positive cash register and comply with the maximum expense established.. In the event that an entity fails to comply with the rule, a restriction is imposed on the salary limit, which some time ago changed to 40% to improve the fluidity of the market and the sustainability of the clubs.

This change meant that of each salary that the squad left, only 40% of it could be used for new registrations. This measure, despite improving the available funds, is considered insufficient by many clubs.

For this reason, from the competition directive they established that from the end of June of this summer and temporarily during the summer period, this percentage would grow to 50%.. In addition, it could be extended if the sale is of a player with a large salary, since if its sale involves the release of a percentage equal to or greater than 5% of the Cost of the Sports Squad (CDP), 60% can be counted of the benefits to apply them to staff expenses.
