Arturo Grávalos dies at the age of 25 due to a brain tumor

La Rioja cyclist Arturo Grávalos, 25, died this morning from a brain tumor, as reported by both the La Rioja Cycling Federation and the Eolo-Kometa team, from the Alberto Contador Foundation.

Grávalos, runner-up in Spain under-23 road cycling in 2019, underwent surgery in November 2021 for a brain tumor that had been diagnosed a few weeks earlier. The evolution of that operation was very positive, but the cyclist had to go through the operating room again on several occasions.

“Life has put many obstacles ahead of him in recent times and he always, always, reacted with the best of his faces. The grief or sorrow kept it to himself, he refused to give it continuity.. We will never forget you, Arturo.. Rest in peace,” the Eolo-Kometa team published in a note.
