ACS earns 20% more and accumulates the largest order book in its history

The ACS construction, concessionaires and services group has started the year with a 20% growth in net profit, up to 163 million euros, thanks to the good performance of all its businesses and especially that of its investee concessionaire Abertis.

The total sales of the group chaired by Florentino Pérez grew by 17%, up to 8,111 million euros, 17% more, as reported today by the company itself. Construction, the main pillar of the group with Dragados and Hoschtief as engines, strongly boosted profitability by growing its profits by more than 40% while concessions tripled them.

The dimension of ACS's activity measured in the business that it has pending to execute or manage. The backlog as of March 2023 stands at 71,270 million euros, which is the highest volume reached by the group in historical terms. Throughout the last quarter, contract awards have risen to a value that exceeds 12,000 million euros.

Today the works and business portfolio is mainly concentrated in North America, with 55% of the total. The Oceania region, with Australia as the main benchmark, follows in weighting with 23% of the contracts. Europe, with 18%, occupies the third position with Spain as the leading country, concentrating 9%. Among the listed construction companies in Spain, ACS is currently the one that generates the highest volume of sales abroad. this circumstance led to doubts about the possibility that, following the path of Ferrovial, it considered relocating its headquarters to establish it in another country. But Florentino Pérez openly ruled it out at the group's last shareholders' meeting.

After the approval by the shareholders' meeting of two capital increases for a maximum of 580 million euros to meet the future dividend, the company has informed the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) that the first of the payments It will be around 1.55 euros.

This amount is 4.4% above the 1,484 euros that he delivered in July 2022. On that occasion, for shareholders who declined to receive the dividend in cash but rather in the form of new shares, they received 1 new share for every 15 shares.
