Bureaucracy against SMEs

ECONOMY / By Carmen Gomaro

A widely agreed upon issue is that the major concern for the Spanish economy lies in its productivity challenges, particularly in relation to the size of companies. The statistics paint a clear picture. When comparing Spanish companies with their German counterparts, which have over 250 employees, there is minimal disparity in productivity levels. Even among medium-sized companies, the gap is not prominently noticeable. However, the real discrepancy becomes glaringly apparent in smaller enterprises. It is within these small businesses where productivity struggles become distinctly pronounced.
