A 34-year-old man drowned in the San Juan reservoir (Madrid) after suffering a swimming accident

A 24-year-old man has drowned in the San Juan reservoir after suffering an accident while swimming in the Picadas reservoir, located between San Martín de Valdeiglesias and Navas del Rey, has reported Emergencias Comunidad de Madrid.

Apparently, the boy was swimming and has submerged for unknown reasons.. After being alerted around twelve noon, the 112 emergency services have activated different resources to carry out a water rescue with firefighters from the Community of Madrid from the San Martín de Valdeiglesias park, a device of the Red Cross and the Group of Specialists in Underwater Activities (GEAS) of the Civil Guard.

During the rescue work, the Red Cross troops have carried out a dive and have located the lifeless victim, proceeding to rescue him with the help of firefighters. As reported by 112, the body has been transferred to the shore, remaining in the custody of the Civil Guard.
