A man dies when a zódiac overturns on Jandía Beach (Fuerteventura)
A man died this Friday morning when the zódiac in which he was together with two other people overturned on Jandía Beach, within the municipality of Pájara (Fuerteventura), as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center ( cecoes) 112.
A call alerted that a boat had capsized and that its occupants were in the water, so a rescue helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) and Maritime Rescue went to the scene..
The air resource located and rescued one of its three occupants in cardiorespiratory arrest and transferred him to the Morro Jable Pier; while the other two occupants managed to get out of the water by their own means.
On land, the personnel of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) verified that the affected person was unemployed, for which they carried out advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without success, having to confirm the death.
For its part, Maritime Rescue collaborated in the rescue tasks; Civil Guard took charge of the body until the arrival of the judicial authority and instructed the corresponding proceedings; while the Local Police collaborated with the emergency services.
