The president of the municipal group of the PP in Barcelona, Òscar Ramírez, member of the executive of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has resigned from all his positions and has torn up the party card due to discrepancies with the candidacy that Daniel Sirera leads in the Catalan capital, according to training sources have explained to Europa Press.
The decision comes a few hours before the electoral campaign of the municipal elections begins. Ramírez has resigned as a member of the PP executive and as deputy secretary of municipal policy for training in Catalonia, although he will continue to serve as councilor and president of the group in the consistory until the end of the legislature.
From the party they assure that the resignation is a “personal decision” of Ramírez, who was left out of Sirera's candidacy, despite the fact that he offered to be part of it in fourth place.
The candidate of the PP for the mayor's office chose as number two and three the ex-deputy in the Parliament Juan Milián and the ex-councilwoman Àngels Esteller, while in the fourth and fifth place he placed Víctor Martí and Sonia Devesa
