The head of the investigating court number 4 of Igualada (Barcelona) has prosecuted Brian Raimundo C., the man arrested for the brutal rape of a minor under 16 when he was leaving a nightclub, for a crime of sexual assault and another for attempted murder the early morning of November 1, 2021.

In his order, advanced by the newspaper ARA and to which EFE has had access, the judge considers that there are sufficient indications to send the suspect to trial also for a crime of attempted murder, concluding that after brutally raping the minor abandoned her to her fate in the open, which would have caused her death if she had not been found in time.

Brian Raimundo CM was arrested in April 2022 accused of having raped the young woman, whom he allegedly attacked when she was walking alone to the train station to go home, in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona), after being partying with some friends at the Epic nightclub in Igualada at dawn on November 1, 2021, Halloween night.

According to the magistrate in his car, the defendant attacked the young woman “surprisingly”, after which he attacked her “brutally, giving her strong blows to the head and sexually assaulting her”, using “force and violence” to do so..

Later, he left her on Països Baixos street where he had committed the rape, but not before taking the coat and dress she was wearing, adds the car.

“The minor was left abandoned on the ground, unconscious, naked, in a cold, inhospitable place, with hardly any traffic of people and with significant injuries, a consequence of the blows suffered and contemporary to the sexual assault perpetrated,” adds the judge, who recalls that if it had not been assisted “quickly” the result “would have been nothing but death”.

The judge lists in his car the indications that weigh on the suspect, who was identified by the security cameras that captured him following the minor down the street and returning later, with the item of clothing that he had stolen from the victim in his hand. , as well as the location of your mobile phone.

To these indications are added the ones collected at the entrance and search of his home, where, the car points out, a “genetic profile of the minor was found in the different objects and clothes that the person investigated was wearing on the night of the events.”.

The magistrate has summoned him for an investigative statement tomorrow, a mandatory procedure in a prosecution, and has imposed a bond of 3,000 euros to ensure any compensation that could be set in a sentence.

In statements to EFE, the spokesman and head of the legal services of the Fecasarm nightlife employer, Joaquim Boadas, who is acting as popular prosecutor in this proceeding, has announced that they will ask for the maximum sentence to serve as a “reprimand” for the author , if its authorship ends up being demonstrated, and as a “warning” or “dissuasive measure” for those who intend to violate sexual freedom in the field of nightlife.

Boadas has insisted on requesting more police presence in the vicinity of entertainment venues, since dynamic patrols have proven to be a “very efficient and very effective” dissuasive measure to prevent this type of case.
