The National Police have arrested a man in Alcoy (Alicante) for allegedly threatening to “set himself on fire to burn the entire mountain and the agents”.

The man impregnated himself with gasoline and it was his wife who warned that he had not taken his medication for several days and that he had left the house with a gasoline can, a lighter, an ax, and a knife..

The events were recorded on July 26 at the wee hours of the morning and room CIMACC-091 notified the Citizen Attention Group of the National Police Station in Alcoy, as reported by the National Police in a statement..

The National Police agents, in a quick and coordinated maneuver, managed to distract the man's attention while the other ran up to take advantage of his carelessness and knock him down before he could set himself on fire with the lighter.
