The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, criticized in Valencia the extraordinary Council of Ministers held this Thursday to approve measures against the drought. “Farmers are not tricked on the day the posters are put up,” he said about the coincidence in the calendar with the start of the municipal and regional elections on 28-M. “The countryside does not want to be irrigated with aid, the countryside wants to irrigate,” he asserted.
“The countryside is not satisfied with aid to resist, what the countryside wants is to produce,” insisted the Galician leader at a rally held in the Marina of Valencia at the gates of the official start of the electoral campaign for the municipal and regional elections of the 28-M.
“In five years the Government had time to execute measures,” he reproached. Feijóo also recalled, as he announced in Murcia, his intention to promote “a National Water Plan to purify all water and reuse it”. “It will be my first engagement,” he said.

In this line, he promised that, if he reaches the presidency of the Government in the subsequent general elections, his Executive will modernize the supply “so as not to lose between 20% and 30% of the water.”
“We will invest 40,000 million euros in the next 10 years,” he promised. “I would call a conference of (autonomous) presidents and I would agree with all. It will not be an extraordinary measure, it will be a planned action of the Government. I will dedicate myself body and soul for four years,” he said.
Without “casting” or “extras”
Alberto Núñez Feijóo began his speech with various jokes about the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, whom he considers far from the citizenry. “I have come to Valencia by train, I have not come in Falcon”, he countered. “I have spoken with all the people on the street that I have met, without a previous casting,” he added.
The leader, greatly applauded by the Valencian party members, continued with the joke: “I had a coffee and there were no extras. To enter here we have not asked for the ID nor have we signed a manual of good conduct “.
“This all seems like a joke, but it's not,” he continued more seriously.. But they continued their ironies. “Now Sánchez is going to see Biden. You will see cars, planes…. His reaction is unpredictable. As you get close to the US President's Air Force One, you'll want one for him.. I hope he doesn't do it,” he said.
Feijóo, already “out of jokes”, promised a change of profile if he reaches the presidency of the Government of Spain. “I promise to always act like this. When I am president, I will be among the people,” he said.
Regarding the campaign in the Valencian Community, Feijóo considered the “defeat” of the president of the Generalitat and socialist candidate for re-election, Ximo Puig, will be “deserved and fair”, and claimed the “illusion” of the popular against the “fear” of the PSOE. “Some do not care about winning and we are not going to govern losing: we are only going to govern winning,” he promised, as he had done on previous occasions.
“It is necessary to move on to serene change, if someone understands the importance of change it is you and it shows on the street, you breathe hope and you see the change that is coming because you deserve it. The defeat of the misgovernment of the Valencia City Council and the Generalitat is deserved”, he stated together with the regional and municipal candidates of the PP for the 28-M, Carlos Mazón and María José Catalá.
Feijóo stated that the PP wants to win in the Valencian Community because it is one of the “most important autonomies in Spain” and because in the party they are capable of representing the “vast majority” of Valencians.
“We want to win because Mazón and I are convinced and committed to doing many things together,” he said.. He defended that both Mazón and Catalá have “a government project” and “the desire to win”, without “understanding this land as a trophy for anyone.”
mayor and mother
“I can assure you that we are going to achieve after a long time that the Popular Party of Spain is the first political force in Spain,” he proclaimed.. The challenge, he stressed, is to give the Spanish governments for the majority.
“The PP only comes out to win,” he insisted, something that contrasted with the barometer of the Sociological Research Center (CIS) published this Wednesday, on which Feijóo, before knowing the data, already anticipated that the PSOE would obtain “very good” results .
As for Catalá, Feijóo stressed that he sees her “with more strength and energy than ever to fulfill her dream”, that of being mayor and also that of being a mother for the second time, since she is almost 8 months pregnant. “She is the only candidate who has double everything,” he joked.
In a municipal key, Feijóo promised the candidate for mayor that one of the first decisions he will make, if he becomes president of the Government after the autumn general elections, will be to unblock the northern expansion project of the port of Valencia.
