King Juan Carlos extends his stay in Spain and moves to Vitoria

SPAIN

Juan Carlos I has finished his days visiting Sanxenxo, where he arrived last Wednesday to participate in the I Volvo Autesa Cup. Although Felipe VI's father was finally unable to go sailing on either of the two days of competition, the Bribón has won the victory, captained by his friend, the Olympic medalist Jane Abascal. After five days in Galicia, Don Juan Carlos has traveled to Vitoria.

As this newspaper has been able to confirm, the Emeritus has traveled to Vitoria. Juan Carlos I has arrived around 7:30 p.m. at the dental clinic of Dr. Eduardo Anitua, located in a residential area in the south of the city, in a Mercedes-Benz Vito van. The emeritus king is expected to spend the night at this health center and order dinner at a nearby grill.

The arrival of the father of King Felipe VI to the Basque Country has generated enormous expectations. As this newspaper has been able to verify, some 2,400 people were watching their direct route from Vigo to Vitoria in Bombardier Global 5000 through the Flightradar24 page. Minutes before landing at 7:10 p.m., it became the second most followed flight in the world.

On a previous visit in 2015 to the city, where Iñaki Urdangarin, the King's former son-in-law, resides, Don Juan Carlos visited the traumatologist Mikel Sánchez, who is consulting at the Vithas San José hospital.

Goodbye to Galicia under heavy rain

At 6:15 p.m. this Sunday, the private jet with Juan Carlos I on board took off from the Peinador airport, in Vigo, heading to Vitoria. He arrived at the aerodrome 15 minutes early in Pedro Campos's car.

At 5:58 p.m., the vehicle entered the track guarded by a Civil Guard patrol. The Emeritus got off and in a matter of two minutes he climbed the stairs and entered the plane. Then it was necessary for it to wait for the landing and takeoff maneuvers of two other ships, until it finally started up.

The maneuver was witnessed in the vicinity of the airport by about thirty people who had been waiting all afternoon for the moment to see how Juan Carlos I left Galicia. Despite the heavy rain that fell for a good part of the afternoon, they did not give up on their interest and, when the plane was finally airborne, they quickly left the area with comments of disappointment.. “For this, all afternoon”, could be heard. An hour later, the jet has landed at Vitoria airport.

The Civil Guard established a security device in the vicinity. The citizen presence benefited a donut stall that is usually located in this area on a daily basis and that this Sunday had much more customers than usual.

Don Juan Carlos has managed to make discretion the keynote of his trip to Spain, which has allowed him to extend his stay a few more hours. At first there was talk of a trip to Barcelona to see his friend Josep Cusí, but it seems that his destination would be different and that in a few days he would leave Spain.

His departure from Spain will not be, however, for a long time. Don Juan Carlos plans to return at the beginning of June to participate in another regatta.
