Operation Fairman brings to 23 immigrants detained in amusement vehicles
A total of twenty-three immigrants have been arrested within the framework of Operation Fairground since its inception yesterday Sunday to prevent the arrival in Algeciras (Cádiz) of people hiding in the vehicles of the attractions entrepreneurs who have participated in the Patron Saint Festivities of Ceuta.
The so-called Operation Fairground, named after the control that is carried out on the fairground attractions where these people hide, began around 6:00 a.m. this Sunday with the participation of 50 agents.
The operation has resulted until this Monday with the location of twenty-three immigrants who were hiding in one of the 292 vehicles that have already been inspected by the agents.
The Government Delegation has detailed that 22 cars, 28 vans, 37 light trailers, 66 heavy trailers, 67 trucks weighing up to 3,500 kilos, 26 tractor-trailers, 21 caravans, a motorcycle, a motorhome and 23 home trailers have already passed through police control..
Last year the agents controlled 66 vehicles, 109 trucks and 157 trailers of the fairground entrepreneurs, inspections that resulted in the arrest of 47 immigrants, of whom 44 were Moroccan minors..
The operation, in which agents of the National Police, the Civil Guard and the port police intervene, has the support of a drone, a heartbeat detector and a dog specialized in locating people.
