Opponents of Metro denounce irregularities of the same company of the fiasco in Catalonia

SPAIN

On April 23, the oppositions to acquire a position as electric traction machinist and Metro section chief were held in the capital. Now, the opponents denounce irregularities in the selection process and demand explanations from the company hired for half a million euros by the Community of Madrid to carry out the exams. It is about Cegos, the same one related to the fiasco of the interim oppositions of the Catalan Generalitat held last weekend.

El Confidencial has not been able to get in touch with the entity, but from Metro they assure that there has been no irregularity in the process and that the circumstances in which the tests have been developed have respected at all times the bases of the call and equality treatment between applicants.

This newspaper has been able to collect some of the complaints from opponents, who denounce the lack of transparency and the absence of similar criteria in the correction processes. They have joined a Telegram group, have designed a base complaint template and have created a Twitter account to unify their demands.. The exam consisted of three parts: personality, skills and knowledge. They point out that the first was done, finally, the last, and without complying with the established time of 45 minutes..

On the same file, and always according to their version, they explain that the booklets were not sealed as they should when the applicants entered the exam. Also that the times were not respected under the same criteria in the psychotechnical exams. AMG, one of the opponents, explains that they do not understand how these exams have been weighted: he demands transparency and that they publish the corrective template. Around 15,000 candidates took both exams and a pool of 1,000 was created, both for the section chief specialization and electric traction.

“It is difficult to understand that people who have obtained a negative score (-1.29 and adds 29 points to the average) or (-0.97 and adds 30 points to the average) in the spatial part, have positive notes, which they add them and it gives them to obtain the average and get the 50 points that allow them to pass that part, when someone with a 0, or less, should not add anything, because it indicates that it was better not to answer anything in that test ”, explains the statement of the complainants. In fact, from Comisiones Obreras they resigned from being part of the Examination Court due to “lack of information”.

From Metro they insist that the application of the standardization criterion for “the assessment of results of psychotechnical tests is specifically contemplated in the bases of the process and is a common criterion to assess this type of test”. The response received by the complainants, from Cegos, is an email explaining that “the psychotechnical tests applied in the selection process are evaluation tools for the exclusive use of psychologists”.

In addition, they are responding to all these claims “individually for each applicant, as is done every time there is evidence of this nature.”. This is also why there is always a period to be able to carry out the same, which is answered in a timely manner”, Metro sources point out.. The claims phase of this process, which is handled by the training and development company Cegos, is still open. In the Catalan case, the Govern will repeat the exams next July.
