The Catalan association S'ha Acabat! demands from Alberto Núñez Feijóo the commitment to "put an end to the discrimination suffered by the Spanish" if he governs after 23-J

SPAIN / By Carmen Gomaro

S'ha Acabat! wants the Executive that emerges from the polls for the elections on July 23 to put an end to the “humiliating stage” of the presidency of Pedro Sánchez. “The longer this disastrous government lasts, the more Spain will suffer,” says the youth organization, which in the next few hours will publish a statement in which it will ask for political adherence to a decalogue of measures that put a stop to “the degradation suffered by the country”.

The Catalan entity will call for “a general commitment between the parties” to comply with this road map, in which, among other points, it demands that there be no pacts with the pro-independence forces, the vehicularity of Spanish in teaching or reversing the elimination of the crime of sedition in the Penal Code and cancel the modification made in the embezzlement of public funds.

Despite the fact that the name of the parties is not specified in the communiqué, the leaders of S'ha Acabat! They recognize that the only two formations that can feel challenged are the PP and Vox. “The PSOE could also be added if it recovers common sense, but that is currently impossible because Sanchismo has infected the party,” they point out.

The association against the independence movement demands that the new government “promise never to agree with the separatists, heirs of ETA and with those who do not respect the Constitution”. In turn, it demands “a clear and forceful response to those who seek to dismember the unity of Spain.”

Defense of Spanish

At a time when the arrival of the PP to the Balearic Government and the Valencian Generalitat could mean changes in the language policies of both autonomous communities, S'ha Acabat! wants “bilingualism to be real” throughout the country and to put an end to “the discrimination suffered by Spanish” in regions with more than one official language. For this reason, the group wants “that the law and judicial provisions regarding the use of Spanish are complied with” and that “a model of free choice of vehicular language” be offered in teaching.

The youth organization warns that the commitment must be unequivocal to “guarantee the linguistic rights of all citizens”. And, for this, it prevents against the repetition of “mistakes of the past”. “We do not want a Mariano Rajoy 2.0; we want real changes, not mere management”, those responsible for this newspaper point out.

Several legislative norms approved in recent years are in the crosshairs of S'ha Acabat!, which calls for the repeal of the Democratic Memory Law, the current Law on Universities and the Lomloe promoted by the former Minister of Education Isabel Celaá. It also demands that the Political Parties Law be complied with and that the illegalization of nationalist formations be studied.

Specifically, the patriotic entity advocates suspending the activity of EH Bildu because “it has people convicted of terrorism on its electoral lists and not only refuses to condemn ETA's terrorism, but whitewashes and praises it”. In this sense, S'ha Acabat! It also demands “that the approaches of ETA prisoners to prisons in the Basque Country be paralyzed and that they fully serve their sentences.”
