The cuts for works in the vicinity of the Metropolitan in Madrid begin: affected roads and dates of the restrictions
- A driver sows panic in the Wanda Metropolitano and the Police have to intervene
- These are the fastest Metro lines (and the slowest) of the Madrid Metro
The second phase of the works on the accesses to the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium has begun. This has caused different traffic cuts that will have a significant impact on the surrounding streets until the summer of 2024.. This has been stated by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) in a report published in recent days. It will also affect access from Avenida de Arcentales to the M-40 South in an increasing direction. These cuts will be in force until next year on the same dates.
The project aims to renovate and improve the circulation and connections of these state-owned highways, in addition to making progress in road safety. However, during the following twelve months, the DGT confirms that there may be complications, especially at peak hours on business days, when the density of vehicles is higher.
DGT recommendations
The DGT itself has made a series of recommendations during the course of the works. In the first place, he has advised to avoid going through this area until the project is finished unless it is strictly necessary.
The agency has also proposed a number of alternatives. He has placed special emphasis on the itinerary marked from the signs arranged in the place, which indicate exit 12 of the right carriageway of the M-40 Carretera de Canillejas-Vicálvaro.
The Cívitas Metropolitano is not the only stadium in the capital that is in the midst of a reform process. The Madrid Santiago Bernabéu coliseum will go through a period of works to improve the sports facilities inside and outside, which will also conclude in 2024.
