The Electoral Board extends one day, until the 25th, the deadline to deposit the vote by mail

The Central Electoral Board (JEC) has decided to extend by one day the deadline to deposit the vote by mail for the municipal and regional elections, which will end next Thursday, the 25th.

The JEC has reported this Friday that it has approved the proposal sent by the Post Office that the vote can be deposited until the 25th during the usual opening hours of its offices.

“For this purpose, the State Postal and Telegraph Company must take extreme diligence to ensure that the envelopes with the vote can be delivered on the day of the vote at the respective polling stations, within the legally established deadlines,” the JEC has indicated in the agreement, which was adopted at their meeting this Thursday.

At that meeting, the JEC also agreed to agree to the request of the Ministry of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda so that the accessible voting kits reach the homes of the applicants for the elections to autonomous parliaments that coincide with the municipal ones in 12 communities.

The JEC approves it “to the extent that the competent autonomous communities have the appropriate material and that there is no material or regulatory obstacle to its use” and it will be transferred to the corresponding autonomous community and provincial electoral boards.
