The Prosecutor's Office requests seven years in prison for some parents for giving cocaine to their 19-month-old daughter

The Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Madrid requests seven years and six months in prison for some parents who supplied their 19-month-old daughter with cocaine and caused her intoxication for which she had to be admitted to the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid.

The trial will begin next Tuesday, the 13th, in the Seventh Section of the Provincial Court of Madrid. The Public Prosecutor charges the parents, P. A. J. and S. R. G., a crime of drug trafficking and another aggravated injury to a child under 12 years of age.

According to the Prosecutor's account, the couple agreed to provide narcotic substances to their 19-month-old daughter “with the intention of impairing physical integrity.”. In fact, they had been supplying him with cocaine, “at least 6 or 7 months before September 10, 2019”, which caused him injuries and produced “full” cocaine intoxication or a febrile crisis exacerbated by cocaine toxicity.

As a consequence of the excessive intake of cocaine, the minor had to be admitted to the Hospital 12 de Octubre. The girl suffered injuries consistent with cocaine poisoning, producing a fever and bruises, which also required initial medical assistance.

Likewise, the girl required medical treatment consisting of hospital admission for observation and necessary drug treatment (midazolam, which is a benzodiazepine and levetiracetam, which is an anticonvulsant used in epilepsy), oxygen therapy and antipyretic, and of which it took an impedimental 2 days to heal. .
