The PSOE is already launching the campaign against the PP and Vox, comparing them to "the mythological monster with the two heads"

The electoral strategy of the PSOE for the general elections on July 23 will leave in the background the defense of the management of the coalition government, which was not effective in the regional and municipal elections last Sunday, to focus fully on the ideological terrain. And he launches this new campaign comparing the “alliance” of PP and Vox with “the mythological monster with the two heads”.

“On issues such as climate change, on the one hand, one head despises it and the second head says that we must fight it with a pot on each balcony,” said the party's spokeswoman, Pilar Alegría, to support the simile in an interview in RNE in allusion to the generic position of the formation of Santiago Abascal on this issue and to a proposal from the Madrid president, the popular Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

According to the also Minister of Education, the Socialists must now carry out a “self-criticism exercise” to “find out what has gone wrong” in the last appointment with the polls. To which he added: “But we also have to explain to people the problem that this pairing of PP-Vox can cause for this country, as Trump did for the US, Bolsonaro for Brazil and Orban for Hungary and Europe.”

In the Ferraz Executive they insist that the “couple” that forms the party of Alberto Núñez Feijóo with that of Abascal is “real”, that it is not “a scarecrow”, because they already form a coalition in Castilla y León. They also say that the popular understand that “it is not good for them to go with that couple hand in hand” and that is why they have been introducing the debate in the electoral campaign to let the list with the most votes rule that “they only raise it when they do well them”.

Regarding the “loss of confidence” in its acronym that left the 28-M ballot, in the PSOE they consider that it has “fundamentally concentrated in Madrid”, where the regional candidacy of Juan Lobato brought together 609,178 votes compared to 612,622 for that of Ángel Gabilondo in the early elections of 2021, that is, 3,444 less. The drop, however, has been more pronounced in other regions such as La Rioja, where they have lost almost 10,000 votes, going from 63,068 four years ago to 53,295 now..

The national leadership of the socialists has convened a Federal Committee on June 10 for the approval of the lists of July 23. It will also be the first opportunity for the barons and party officials to present their opinions on the electoral debacle of 28-M.
