The UCO searches a well for a second businessman who dealt with the intermediary of the 'Manzanares crime'
Gaspar Rivera has once again betrayed Antonio Caba, the intermediary who allegedly murdered businessman Juan Miguel Isla last summer after intermediating in the sale of some land in Manzanares (Ciudad Real). Isla appeared in a well two months ago.
Gaspar confessed that he helped Caba, his friend, to get rid of the body. The shadow of the doubt hung over Caba also due to the disappearance, in the summer of 2019, of another businessman whom he had helped sell high-end cars. Caba was engaged in intermediation work in the purchase and sale of farms and real estate.
Jesús González Borrajo disappeared and, like Isla, the last person to see him alive was Antonio Caba. Gaspar, in prison since March, has decided to speak up and has told investigators that Caba killed González Borrajo and that he helped him. He said that he became his accomplice for money and friendship.
Actually for Caba, Gaspar -with serious problems with alcohol and gambling- was a kind of man for everything.
Yesterday, the Central Operating Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard inspected the well marked by Gaspar. He pointed it out as the place where the businessman's corpse would have been dumped four years ago.
The search had to be suspended because, given the depth of the well, other machinery was necessary to be able to examine it accurately.. gaspar, indicate sources of the investigation, also provided other locations of interest to researchers.
For this reason, in the afternoon the agents of the elite Civil Guard corps inspect a tool house located in a rural area near Manzanares.
Search efforts are expected to resume today.. Both Gaspar Rivera and Antonio Caba were present at all times during the inspections..
The intermediary had helped sell González Borrajo two high-end cars and nothing was known of his whereabouts. The businessman disappeared on July 21, 2019 after meeting Antonio Caba.
Years later, Caba met Juan Miguel Isla after having managed the sale of a farm. Isla had traveled to Manzanares the afternoon before he disappeared from Playa de San Juan, in Alicante, where he lived with his wife to collect 50,000 euros in cash for a piece of land that he had just sold. To do this, he had the collaboration of Caba, who was the one who accompanied him. She had met him in La Solana. Later, his trail was lost until on March 14, the UCO located him in a well.
Weeks later, the investigation incorporated a new element: the industrialist's brother. The UCO has serious suspicions about Francisco Isla, although his connection to the events is still unknown to the agents.
He himself confessed at the end of March that he had kept a pistol that Antonio Caba had given him on the days his brother disappeared in a warehouse he owned.. They continue to investigate it.
