Emergency personnel have rescued six mountaineers who were stranded in the Sierra de Gredos at the height of the municipality of Zapardiel de la Ribera, in the province of Ávila, sources from the 112 Emergency Service have informed Europa Press.

The Emergency Coordination Center of the Junta de Castilla y León has mobilized the rescue helicopter of the Junta de Castilla y León with two rescuers, one of them a nurse. He also gave notice of the incident to the Civil Guard and, by protocol, to the Ávila Fire Department.
After establishing visual contact with the mountaineers, the rescue helicopter remained parked so that the rescuers could descend.. After verifying that the six adults were in perfect health, they have been evacuated in the rescue helicopter to a safe area in Barco de Ávila.
