Vox fills its fiefdoms to launch into the final stretch of the campaign
“These seats are not going to be emptied and the polls are going to be filled on Sunday”. Vox arrives at the weekend with, probably, the most powerful campaign closing of the four big parties. After leaving the debate on Wednesday strengthened, Santiago Abascal reaches the final stretch with power and launch. Yesterday, the leadership of Vox took a mass bath in its great stronghold, Murcia, as a prior notice to the PP that it does not have the hegemony of the right. Today, the space chosen by Vox to settle the most important campaign in its history will be the mythical Plaza de Colón, in the center of Madrid, where Vox has held its great demonstrations in recent years in defense of life, the Constitution and against the erratic policies of Pedro Sánchez.
In Vox they marked the debate on Wednesday as a crucial appointment. The acid test, the opportunity to transfer the party program to millions of voters with all the space of the free right. At the top of the formation they say they are satisfied with Abascal's role in the debate, which focused on the erratic policies of the coalition government and confronted both Pedro Sánchez and Yolanda Díaz. Especially with the second vice president, who intends to overtake Vox as the third force at the polls.
Voices from the management admit that they are “beneficiary” after the debate, and that they not only distance themselves and stop Díaz's attempt to sorpasso, but also set a profile with Feijóo. Yesterday, from Murcia, Abascal stressed that the useful vote on the right is for Vox, the only effective party against Sanchismo: «Betting on Mr. Feijóo is playing Russian roulette. The vote for Vox is the only one that guarantees the alternative.
All despite the fact that Vox noted in the debate that there was no type of dialogue when the conversation was started by Abascal. The party, after analyzing the interventions, detects that Sánchez and Díaz, in a coordinated manner, maintained a certain dialogue and coordination in their expressions. But when Abascal brought up a topic of conversation, he only found dribbles and silences as proof that they were trying to corner him.. Something that can reinforce his opposition profile against the PSOE and Sumar.
In fact, Vox hopes to come back in these three days: Wednesday debate, Thursday Murcia, Friday Madrid. “They are trying to discourage us,” Abascal warned yesterday from the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga before more than 2,000 people, from where he underpinned the conditions of Vox in the Region as a warning to Feijóo at the national level: “You have wanted to make 18% of voters invisible. Vox always has good words for Murcia. It is its electoral stronghold, the jewel in the crown of all the territories, where it managed to be the first force in 2019. Hence, Abascal decides to start closing the campaign from this enclave, also a recent epicenter of tensions with the PP as a result of the blockade that prevents Fernando López Miras from revalidating the presidency of the Region.
The popular ones only needed two seats for support, but Vox refuses to give its support without having a presence in the regional Executive, in the image and likeness of the Valencian Community or Extremadura. And the proximity of the general elections deepened the rift between the two parties, since neither of them was willing to give up their claims as a warning to the contrary at the national level.
