Anthony Fauci, hero and villain of the coronavirus

INTERNATIONAL

Who is Anthony Fauci? Is he the renowned epidemiologist who stoically endured the attacks – and threats of dismissal – of former President Donald Trump during the worst moments of the pandemic? An apparently neutral figure in the political arena, or a statesman who knows how to play his cards like no one else by now siding with President Joe Biden on the theory that the coronavirus could have originated in a Chinese laboratory? Many still perceive him as an ambiguous figure and difficult to interpret.
