At least 24 dead when a van fell down a ravine in central Morocco

At least 24 people have died this Sunday in central Morocco when a van plunged down a ravine in the province of Azilal, as confirmed by the authorities.

The incident appears to have occurred when the driver of the vehicle lost control on a curve and ended up at the bottom of a ravine.

The occupants were going to a market in the city of Demnate when the tragedy occurred, authorities have reported to the Nador City portal.

Members of the Royal Gendarmerie and Civil Protection have been dispatched to the scene to recover the victims and more accurately determine the causes of the incident.

After the fall, the vehicle has been completely destroyed.
