Feijóo asks the Government to "rectify" because his wife has also been accused of hoaxes

Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the leader of the opposition, has called on Pedro Sánchez to correct his statements made during an interview on TVE. In the interview, Sánchez mentioned that Feijóo’s wife had been targeted by false information. Feijóo’s request for rectification comes after Vice President María Jesús Montero used fake news to attack Feijóo’s wife in Congress.

Feijóo took to social media to request the rectification and clarified that he has never advocated for any politician’s wife to stay at home. He also shared an excerpt from an interview he gave last week on Onda Cero, where he addressed Sánchez’s decision to consider resigning.

In the interview, conducted on the La Brújula program, Feijóo was asked about his views on regulating the role of the president’s partner. He responded by stating that if he were president, he would ask his wife not to have contracts with the public administration and that any sponsors she has for her work should not subsequently receive contracts with the administration. He also emphasized that no wife of any president of the government has been involved in the situation faced by Sánchez and his partner.
