Iran inaugurates a new security doctrine in the Middle East

In a significant shift of strategy, Iran has unveiled a fresh doctrine in response to Israel’s assault on its consulate in Damascus. Rather than relying on proxy groups in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, or Yemen as it has done for decades, the Islamic Republic took direct action on April 13. Employing an unprecedented arsenal, Iran launched a total of 170 drones, 120 ballistic missiles, and over 30 cruise projectiles.
