Massive Russian attack on several Ukrainian regions coinciding with Zelensky's visit to the United States
The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, took advantage this Thursday of the visit that Volodimir Zelensky made this week to the UN General Assembly and the American White House to send a war message: he will not stop his offensive and no region is safe from his scope.
Last morning, the Russian Army launched a wave of 43 cruise missiles – 36 were intercepted by the anti-aircraft defense before they reached their target – over several Ukrainian regions, including the capital, Kiev, in a multiple attack that also reached the regions of Cherkasy, Khmelnitsky, Vinitsia and Ivano-Frankivsk and Kharkiv, and for which it used Kh-101, Kh-555 and Kh-55 cruise missiles launched from 10 TU-95MS strategic aircraft 500 kilometers east of the border.
The attacks, which left six dead and nine wounded in the Kherson region controlled by Ukrainian forces, were recognized by the Russian Government, but it stressed that they targeted the Ukrainian military industry.. “The attack was directed against electronic espionage centers and training bases of sabotage groups of the Ukrainian Army, and all targets were destroyed,” said Russian defense spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
Russian terrorists continued to shell Kherson's residential districts throughout the night and into the morning. Three people died and four were hospitalized as a result of the strike on a dormitory.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reports “a Russian projectile hit an apartment building in the morning,” causing the death of “an 81-year-old woman.” The Ministry published a video of the consequences of the attacks, which have devastated doors, windows, interiors and surroundings of numerous apartments in the buildings hit.
The city of Kherson was liberated by Ukrainian troops in November last year, after more than eight months under Russian military occupation.. Russian forces continue to control the part of the Kherson region that is on the eastern bank of the Dnieper River, from where they daily bombard the other bank, where the city that gives its name to this province in southern Ukraine is located.
Moscow also assured that it thwarted a massive drone attack against the annexed Crimean peninsula, the focus of Ukrainian troops in recent weeks.. According to Defense, anti-aircraft defense shot down a total of 19 Ukrainian unmanned aircraft over the Black Sea and the territory of Crimea, and another three in the Kursk, Belgorod and Oryol regions.. Drone attacks against Russian regions are frequent, especially in recent months against Crimea, where the day before there were bombings with unmanned vehicles and missiles on the port city of Sevastopol.
Meanwhile, in the eastern region of Donetsk, Russian troops were trying to recover without success, according to the Ukrainian military command, positions northeast of Andrivka, a small town recovered last week by Kiev forces and located just 3 kilometers from the strategic highway T0513. Andrivka is located about 10 kilometers south of the city of Bakhmut, controlled since last May by Russian troops after a bloody ten-month battle, and whose recovery by Ukraine would be a severe setback for Moscow.
