The clown Chuponcito, on trial for alleged sexual harassment of his former representative: "Everyone thought she was lying"
The Mexican clown José Alberto Flores Jandete, known as the little clown Chuponcito, will be tried for a controversial case of sexual abuse of which he was accused three years ago. This has been reported by Carla Oaxaca, the former representative of the comedian and victim of the alleged abuse.
In 2020 Chuponcito was accused of a sexual offense against Oaxaca. According to the victim, the comedian would have sent her harassing messages, would have touched her and would have even tried to kiss her. Later, Flores Jandete would have unfairly fired the woman.
As reported by the Heraldo de Tabasco, it was Oaxaca itself, which a few days ago reported in an interview for a Mexican television program about the decision of the courts.
“In November, a federal judge had ordered that he be linked to the process (to open a trial against him), however, he still had one resource left that was the review of the amparo appeal. This review took time and finally, a couple of weeks ago the resolution came out, where three federal judges explain why the man has to be linked and that is the decision,” Carla explained.
The victim's lawyer has also confirmed that this decision is already a fact, although it has had to be postponed due to various legal procedures.
The judge of the Tenth Collegiate Court in Criminal Matters of the First Circuit in Mexico City, has denied Chuponcito the appeal for annulment of the trial, according to Gerardo de la Torre, the victim's lawyer.
The comedian has exhausted all legal resources to avoid legal proceedings, so he will have to face him in the coming weeks for crimes of sexual harassment and digital violence against Carla Oaxaca.
In addition, de la Torre has taken the opportunity to defend Oaxaca: “Society thought that she was lying, that she was looking for another type of attention, fame or a series of things that was not the case. What he seeks is justice.”
On the other hand, the lawyer has also assured that they are going to “request justified preventive detention so that he cannot escape criminal action, since he travels a lot abroad and within the country.”
