The impossible mission of the UN in Western Sahara
The appointment of a mediator for the Western Sahara conflict is on the way to becoming an impossible mission for the United Nations. Since the resignation of the previous special envoy, the German Horst Köhler, in May 2019, the UN has not found a replacement.
