The police release the video of how they kill a man who was going to stab another after a car accident
The Sacramento Police (California, USA) this week published the video of a police chase and shooting that led to the closure of a major highway in the area in early November.
As CBS reports, the event occurred on Interstate 80 during the afternoon of November 5, and a section of the highway near Greenback Lane was closed for more than 10 hours.
The chase began near the Madison Avenue exit when authorities attempted to stop the driver for a traffic violation. The driver fled, but the chase ended when he crashed into a motorcyclist near Greenback Lane.
The suspect's car swerved onto the shoulder, scattering debris across the lanes.. The pursuing officers got out, drew their weapons and ordered the suspect to the ground.
The video shows the suspect jumping with a large knife in his hand. That's when an officer shot him twice, knocking him to the ground.. The suspect then got up and lunged at the motorcyclist who was lying injured on the ground.
The officers fired four more shots and knocked him down again.. The suspect, identified as Zachary Wolffscott, 36, was taken to the hospital, but did not survive his injuries.
That motorcyclist suffered serious injuries but survived.. The officer involved has been placed on paid leave following the incident.
