Reznor ended up taking the door before the house was demolished. He took it to his recording studio in New Orleans, but left it in 2004 when he moved his studio.

From there, a doctor bought Trent's recording space and wanted to get rid of her when he found out about her story.. Then, a man named Christopher Moore bought the door from the doctor in 2017.
