Zelenski arrives in an armored Rome to meet with Pope Francis and Meloni: "An important visit for the victory of Ukraine"
The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has arrived in Rome this Saturday to meet with the leadership of the Italian Government and Pope Francis, with extraordinary security measures, including the declaration of a no-fly zone, on his first trip to Italy since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
As soon as he landed at the Ciampino military airport at around 10:20 in the morning, Zelenski confirmed the schedule of meetings that the Italian media had revealed in recent hours.
“Today in Rome. I am with the president of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, the prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, and Pope Francisco. An important visit for Ukraine's next victory!” Zelensky announced on his Twitter account.

The visit will take place in the presence of a security contingent of more than 1,500 police officers. In addition, nothing will be allowed to fly without permission in Roman airspace, especially drones, while Zelensky's route will be covered by snipers.
The capital's airports, railway stations and metro will be under special surveillance throughout the Ukrainian president's visit, which will end at night with an interview on the Porta a Porta program, on Italian public radio and television, Rai .
