Two batches of Taifun brand tofu withdrawn from the market after metal fragments were found inside
Through a statement, AESAN, under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, has asked people who have 'Tofu Spinacia' products of the Taifun brand at home to “refrain from consuming them.”
This is because the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has reported the presence of metal fragments in two batches (254, 06/02/2023; 274, 06/22/2023) of this product.
According to information from AESAN, the initial distribution has been to the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Balearic Islands, Cantabria, Catalonia, Castilla y León, the Valencian Community, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid and the Basque Country, although “it cannot be ruled out “that there may be redistributions to other autonomous communities.
This information has been transferred to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI), in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels.. The initial alert has been given by Germany.
