Two ring-tailed lemur cubs are born at Loro Parque zoo

The Tenerife zoo Loro Parque has announced this Thursday the birth of two ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta) cubs, a species listed as endangered according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)..

According to the zoo's website, this type of lemur originates from Madagascar and is a very social animal, which lives in communities that can reach 30 specimens and its size from head to tail is around one meter.

The Loro Parque Foundation has published this on its Twitter account, also adding a video of the cubs on the zoo's Instagram account.

It is a species whose population has decreased by more than 50% in the last 30 years due to the reduction of space in its natural habitat on the Island of Madagascar.
